COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri’s Jefferson Farm and Garden in Columbia will host its ninth annual Butterfly Festival 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 13.

The free event offers visitors the chance to learn about native butterfly species, their life cycles and the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem, said Debi Kelly, coordinator of Missouri Extension Master Gardeners.

Activities will include interactive exhibits on pollinator habitats and conservation efforts, tours of flower gardens, children’s crafts, food vendors and a plant sale organized by the Heart of Missouri Master Gardeners.

“Whether you’re a seasoned butterfly enthusiast or just looking for a fun and educational outdoor experience, the Butterfly Festival is the perfect way to connect with nature and celebrate these incredible creatures,” Kelly said.
